What did you learn/notice in your exploration of slideshow tools? How will these tools be useful in your educational activities?
While exploring the slideshow tools, I learned how to make an informational video without the use of buying or downloading unnecessary software. Also, I learned that you don't have to stick with the standard slide-to-slide formatting of a slideshow. Prezi has many different formats for slideshows and include more animations and transitions than Microsoft.
What could Animoto, Photopeach, Fotobabble, Prezi, or Powtoon contribute to your work in building knowledge?
Amimoto and Prezi will help me create more effective presentations and videos. This is particularly helpful in my becoming a Financial Analyst because I will need to produce budgets and figures in a specific way to help investors, and companies understand more about the figures and what steps they should take in the future. Having a professional and effective presentation will help me emphasize the importance of money and figures and complete more of my goals in the future.
How are these creative knowledge expression tools different from other collaborative/communication tools or the collective knowledge building tools you have explored?
These are different than collaborative tools because you don't normally bring other users on to the same project as you. That is, different computers cannot work on the same presentation. Also, you, as a user, are organizing and creating your own material and content. Usually these tools are sent to other Web 2.0 web sites that offer as collaborative/communication tools.
How could you add this to your PLE? Will you?
I would add Animoto and Prezi to my Create category because I am creating my own slides out of my own content and bringing together my own knowledge. I will definitely be adding these to my PLE because I find them very helpful and useful in both my short- and long-term goals.
What are you learning about becoming a digital citizen? What have you learned about using images (and media) appropriately in a digital society?
I am learning that it takes more than being popular to be an effective digital citizen. Although some people don't have as large of a network as others, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't put content out in the web. I am more encouraged to become more active online and put forward meaningful content for discussion. I have learned that it is not as difficult as it seems to properly give credit to images. I used to just take images straight from Google Images and not think twice about it. However, now I know that all images are not meant for the general public and therefore I am stealing these images. I can now share this knowledge about copyright and inform others.
