This week, I had the pleasure of exploring Evernote. Evernote, to me, was that random application that was installed on my computer when I first bought it and I didn't know what it was so it just sat there. Now that I know what it is, I'm excited to try it out.

I've only tipped the surface, but I've written a few notes and connected it to my Gmail account (I would have connected it to other things if it wouldn't have cost anything). So far everything has been amazing and simple and I can't wait to learn more. I feel like a kid with a new toy!

What did you learn/notice in your exploration of Evernote? How will this tool be useful in your educational activities?

I learned that Evernote is a great way to accumulate key pieces of research into one convenient place. This will be extremely useful in aggregating research into one format and one location. It makes it much easier to collaborate with others and minimize time wasted on researching the same information.

It's not quite as nice as Diigo because it's not directly on the browser though. And Diigo has slightly more features than what I've seen on Evernote so far; and it's much safer with video clips.

What do valid and reliable online bookmarks contribute to your work in building knowledge?

Valid and reliable online bookmarks make the information overload that is the Internet manageable. With that ability to organize and categorize, time is not wasted. Time, for me, is the greatest challenge to learning. There is so much information, so many opinions, and it's difficult to pick out the important bits.

How could you add this to your PLE? Will you?

I could add this as an aggregating or collaborating tool. But I probably won't. I find that Diigo is far more relaible and much easier to use, although it doesn't have the ability to write notes, I am able to use Google Docs or other online word processors for such necessities.

Are you able to connect one or more items from your Feedly Reader to your learning?

On my feedly, an incredible article popped up from Educational Technology and Mobile Learning by EdTech Guy called "10 New Educational Web Tools for Teachers and Educators". I always thought that adult learners are more to teach themselves rather than depending on others to learn. Therefore adult students can benefit from these resources. A part of being a good digital citizen is sharing what you have explored with other users. This is part of the collaboration process.
